At Yuhua Palace, Xuanzang completed the translation of the 600-volume 'Great Prajnaparamita Sutra' before peacefully passing away at age 62. Emperor Gaozong wept: 'The Empire has lost its greatest national treasure!' Over one million citizens attended his funeral in Chang'an.
